Kibo terms of use

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This is a translation for convenience. If the English and French versions differ, the French version applies.

1. What Kibo is

Kibo helps you choose your meals for the week, makes your shopping list with prices, fills your Leclerc Drive cart from a computer (with the "Kibo Drive" add-on), guides you while you cook, and tracks the money you save, your meals and, if you want, your weight.

Kibo is published by Alexandre Fievez, sole trader (see the legal notice). By using Kibo, you accept these terms. They are written simply on purpose: if a sentence is unclear, write to us (in the app: Settings → Help and info → "Write to Kibo").

2. Who can use Kibo

Kibo is made for people aged 15 and over. If you are under 15, don't use Kibo on your own: ask a parent to use it with you.

You can add the other people in your household (their first name, age, what they don't eat…). Only do so with their agreement, and for a child, as a parent or guardian.

3. Without an account or with one

Without an account, Kibo works on your device and everything stays there. If you change phones or clear your browser data, everything is lost: remember to export a backup (Settings → Backup).

With an account (free), your data is kept on Kibo's server so you find it on all your devices. Some features need an account: reminders, shared lists, barcode scanning, importing a recipe from a link, shared meal photos and Kibo Premium.

4. Your account and its security

5. Free and Premium

Kibo is free. Kibo Premium, a subscription that unlocks extra features, is not on sale yet: when it is, the terms of sale will apply. The 14-day free trial and the months offered through referrals are already available, with no bank card.

6. What you share with others

Some things can be seen by others:

The rules

What you allow us to do

By sending a meal photo, you allow Kibo, free of charge, to crop it and show it in the app with your nickname, worldwide, for as long as it is online. Your photo stays yours. To remove it: on the recipe, "Send my photo of the dish", then "Remove my photo". It is erased at once, from the app and from the server (then from backups as they are replaced). Deleting your account removes it too.

Picking and removal

Kibo picks which photos to show and does not have to publish a photo you send. Kibo may remove at any time anything that breaks these rules, and change a nickname that breaks them. If you see something wrong, write to us in the app ("Write to Kibo") or to projectafievez500@gmail.com: we look quickly and remove anything unlawful.

7. Kibo is not medical advice

Calories, protein, portions, weight goals, pregnancy and breastfeeding guidelines, and food storage tips are general guidelines meant for healthy people. They do not replace a doctor, midwife or dietitian.

8. The "Kibo Drive" add-on and online grocery stores

9. What Kibo promises, and what it cannot

We do our best for Kibo to work well and all the time, and to keep your data safe. But Kibo can have outages, errors or interruptions (update, server or store problem).

Kibo is not responsible for:

Nothing in these terms removes the rights the law gives you as a consumer, nor Kibo's liability if it is at fault.

10. Suspending an account

If an account breaks these terms (forbidden content, cheating, trying to damage Kibo or to get into someone else's account, mass sending), Kibo may remove the content in question, then suspend or delete the account. Except in an emergency or a serious breach, we warn you first in the app and you can reply.

11. When these terms change

If we change these terms in an important way, Kibo tells you in the app at least 15 days before: a banner at the top of the app says what changes and from when. If you don't agree, you can stop using Kibo and delete your account, at no cost.

12. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, write to us first: we look for a solution together. Otherwise, you can go to the competent court, in France or in the country where you live if you are in the European Union. For Kibo Premium, consumer mediation is explained in the terms of sale.

13. Contact
